Shoushan Carving Chop Seal, Signed

This is one of the finest Shoushan jade carvings that we have ever seen.  The detail is just awesome.  It is 9 inchestall, 5 1/2 inches wide, and 1 1/2 inches thick.  It is carved from one piece of Shou Shan stone.  The carving extends completely around all sides, with scenes of Chinese scholars, children, trees, and stairways going up the mountain side.  The natural color and luster of this stone are remarkable.  This is truly a rare and exceptional masterpiece from the early 1900s.
