This is a signed, old, genuine ivory netsuke.  You can see from the photos that this ivory piece has a lovely patina.  The figure is a Japanese farmer, carrying his hoe, with three baskets, one filled with possibly seeds, or the fruit of the harvest.  He also has some other type of implement hanging on his side.  This piece has fine detail throughout. It also has some very good open work in the carving.  This exceptional netsuke is 2 inches tall, almost 1.5 inches wide, and about 3/4 of an inch deep.  It is in perfect condition, with no losses or repairs.
