African Currency - Large Copper Symbol of Wealth

Throughout Africa, copper and bronze metal was fashioned into this classic shape, which was a form of storing wealth, as these metals were quite valuable in Africa.  This is one of the best pieces of copper currency that we have come across.  It is 8 1/2 inches in diameter and 4 1/2 inches wide.  It has a much richer patina than is shown in the photos, as the photography lighting creates more of a shine than the piece has under normal lighting conditions.  This item has some minor dents, which is to be expected in a piece of this age.  We estimate this item to be from the late 1800s to the early 1900s.
