Imari Porcelain Bowl, Early 1700s
This is a beautiful antique Japanese bowl which is dated to the early 18th century. The hand painted artistry features a landscape scene with mountains in the background and a shoreline in the forefront. It has an exquisitely subtle scalloped edge. This is one of the most unusual Imari blue and white designs that we have seen. The bowl measures 11.5" in diameter and stands almost 2" tall. Although the piece is unsigned, it features six distinctive marks on the bottom, which characterize this particular artist's glazing process. This bowl is in excellent condition.
